What this film tells
Inspired by Pina Bausch, this stop-motion short traces a figure's journey from sensory overload to silence — chaos, awareness, essence.

Letizia Fontana
Sicilian wanderer, 24 years old, artistically known as Lelkie. Began studies in philosophy in Trieste, then settled in Rome as a scholarship student at the European Institute of Design (IED), specializing in illustration and animation. Passionate about dance, found her path in visual and video art, choreographing handmade puppets in stop motion. Drawing, photography, sculpture, dance-theatre, set design, and embroidery all form part of her artistic language.
Director's Statement
The project has its roots in one of the artistic disciplines I loved the most while growing up: dance, and particularly the world of dance theatre. I had the opportunity to come into contact with dance theatre around the age of 15, specifically through the Wuppertal Tanztheater of Pina Bausch, to which I became especially attached. The vast amount of information available through new media can inhibit our ability to truly see what matters.
