Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 15 May 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Anotherstory (“we”, “our”, “us”). We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you visit our website anotherstory.film (“Website”).

By using our Website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal data:

  • Contact information (such as name and email address) submitted through our contact forms
  • Usage data collected through analytics tools (Google Analytics)
  • Marketing attribution data (UTM parameters) when you arrive via a tagged link — see Section 6
  • Cookies and similar technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • Respond to your enquiries or requests
  • Analyse how the Website is used and improve user experience
  • Ensure the proper functionality and security of our services

We process your data only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, relying on the following legal bases:

  • Consent, for analytics cookies and any non-essential processing
  • Legitimate interests, for essential website functionality and security
  • Legal obligations, where processing is required by applicable law

5. Sharing Your Data

We may share your personal data with trusted third-party service providers, including:

  • Google Analytics, to understand how users interact with the Website
  • Consent management platforms, to manage cookie preferences and consent
  • IT and hosting providers, for technical and operational purposes

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

6. Marketing Attribution (UTM Parameters)

When you arrive at anotherstory.film through a link containing marketing parameters (for example utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term) — such as a link from our Instagram bio or a partner site — we save these values to your browser’s localStorage under the key as_attribution for up to 30 days. We also record a single anonymous landing event on our server containing those parameters, the page you arrived on, and an anonymous session identifier generated by your browser.

The sole purpose of this is statistical: to measure which communication channels (Instagram, newsletter, partner links, etc.) bring visits and sign-ups to the platform, so we can understand which of our own activities are working. These parameters do not contain personal data, do not identify you, and are never used to profile you or track you across other websites. We do not store your IP address alongside these events.

If you choose to create an account, the source of your first visit is associated with your profile for internal aggregated analytics only. This association uses the same UTM parameters described above — no additional personal data is collected. The source is never shared with third parties and never used for advertising purposes.

Legal basis: legitimate interest under UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) — measuring the performance of our own communication activities, which has minimal privacy impact (no cross-site identifier, no profiling, first-party only, limited retention).

Your control:you can remove the stored data at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for anotherstory.film. You can also object to this processing by contacting us at the address in Section 8 — doing so does not affect your ability to use the site.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by applicable law. Marketing attribution data stored in your browser is automatically discarded after 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request the correction or deletion of your data
  • Withdraw your consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

You can exercise your rights by contacting us at: info@otherstory.co.uk
